Crews busy on cleanup

Mud, debris trucked from south Vacaville
 By Tom Hall

City crews and dozens of volunteers continued a massive cleanup effort Thursday in south Vacaville, clearing yards and streets of mud and debris caused by Saturday’s widespread flooding.

Giant trucks were used to wash down storm drains along the streets near the intersection of Peabody Road and Alamo Drive. Several water trucks patrolled the roads, cleaning the mess a series of vicious storms left over the holiday weekend.

On Aletha Way, Vacaville firefighters young and old were out volunteering, helping to rip out destroyed carpet and load up garbage trucks provided by Vacaville Sanitation Service in an effort to aid affected apartment dwellers.
