My Top 5 Suggestions for Improving Zooomr

As you may have noticed, I use Zooomr quite a bit for my photo hosting. I love it. The Zooomr team is doing such an amazing job! I know Zooomr Mark III is coming out soon, but I thought I’d post my top 5 suggestions for the site.

So here they are (in no particular order):

  • Recent Activity - I love the Recent Activity function, but wish it had a few more functions. I would like to see comments I make on others’ photos show up in my recent activity. I’d also like to see when people have added me to their friends list in there.
  • Ignore Users - When I go to Discover Photos, sometimes I see a bunch of photos that I don’t want to look at. I like chicks in bathing suits, but I don’t want to go through 5 or 6 pages of it to see other people’s work. So I would like to be able to ignore users.
  • Re-uploading Photos - A while back, Zooomr went through some hardware failures and photos were lost. Some of my photos, in the view all sizes, are missing some of the resizes. I would like to be able to re-upload the original photo, without having to permalink url change.
  • LightBox - Right now, when I open a photo in LightBox, at the top of the screen is Streamr. This opens a photo stream of the photos you’re looking at. The problem is, is that it only displays 5 photos in it. When you click on another photo in there, it doesn’t scroll the photos to the left or right. I’d like to see more photos in Streamr, and the ability to scroll through the stream.
  • Internet Explorer - Wow. Where to begin? Being a Flock user, this doesn’t affect me too much. But when I look at Zooomr through Internet Explorer 6, the right sidebar is at the bottom of the photos, instead of being right next to them. For example, here’s how it looks in Flock, and this is how it looks in IE6. I guess this one wasn’t really a suggestion, but pointing out a problem.

So there it is. My top 5 suggestions for Zooomr. Let me know what you think!
