Early last week I posted part 1 of my one year plan. It was about skydiving. In this part, I’m going to talk about travelling. I need to get a passport. I’ve filled out the application already, I just need to make an appointment at my local post office to turn in the application and get my photo taken. I’ll be getting both the passport book, and card. The card works getting in and out of the land borders. That means Canada and Mexico. The book gets me across the border on a plane or ship.

Part of my 5 year plan is to travel abroad, so this is another great goal for my one year plan. Do you have a passport? Where have you traveled to?

One Year Plan, Part 1

One of the things I want to accomplish in one years time is to go skydiving.  I think it would be absolutely exhilarating!  Maybe even close to being on the space shuttle during launch (I say that because I’ll never be able to experience that in my lifetime).  There’s a skydiving place in Davis, CA that a few people I know have gone to and loved it.  It doesn’t cost all that much, and I’m thinking about doing the one that’s over 10,000 feet.

I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time, but never had the time to do it.  I’m going to pick a time late next spring to do it.  And after that, maybe I’ll learn how to do a solo jump.  But I don’t want to rush into that decision, because there’s still a chance I might not like it.  But how could I not like it?  I love flying, and I LOVE turbulence.  It’s like a rollercoaster to me, and I LOVE those.

Anyway, skydiving is part 1 of my one year plan.

Turning 30

Posted by Beau On September - 7 - 2009

I turned 30 years old this past Friday, September 4th. I don’t feel any different, but it does make me think of the major accomplishments I’ve made in the last 10 years, and the things I want to accomplish in the next 10 years.

At the age of 27, I finally found a career (not just a job). At the age of 29, I bought my first house.

Those are great accomplishments, but what about the future?

I would like to have a family; a wife, at least two children. I’d also like to own a second home, and rent out the first home. And that’s just on the home front. There’s a ton of other things I’d like to accomplish.

I want to travel the world. I’d like to visit Rome, Vatican City, Greece, the UK. And that’s just the short list. I would like to do most of these thing in the next 10 years.

This week I’ll be putting in an application for a passport. I think I’ll get both the book and card. I’d like to start travelling next year, even if it’s just to Canada.

I guess I need to start writing a 1 year, 5 year, and 10 year plan, and try to stick with it.

What are your goals?
